The last 12 months have been challenging for the logistics and haulage industries; soaring fuel costs, the fallout from Brexit and driver shortages have pushed the sector to its limits. Despite this, it’s been another year of growth and development for us at Waller Transport Services.

We’ve continued our growth as a company because, even in these trying times, we’ve retained our reputation for getting your pallets delivered when others can’t. Via our nationwide network of haulage partners, we’ve continued to cater for all types of loads and meet the tightest of deadlines in the UK and internationally.

Growing the Waller European department

Our continued development has also resulted in our staff numbers growing, with two new faces to welcome into the Waller family. First, we have Kaya Richardson, who brings a wealth of experience in freight logistics, focusing on unaccompanied European traffic. He’s a welcome addition to our European team, and we’ve been glad to have him with us since September.

We also welcome Harry Brewster into the fold – someone who’s our new Junior European Operator. He fits in well as a hard-working professional with lots of energy and enthusiasm. We’re all excited to watch his career develop over the coming years within the company.

Planning and Delivering For Success in 2023 – and further customs clearance changes

When you’re planning for success in the new year, our team is here to assist you in making sense of a complex and evolving industry landscape post-Brexit. For instance, from the 1st of January 2023, an Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) will be required for any goods entering the United Kingdom from the European Union.

Also coming into force on the 1st of January next year is the need for a health certificate when importing phytosanitary and veterinary products. This applies to all meat & meat products, plant and plant products, and other high-risk foodstuffs of a non-animal origin. Please account for these changes to avoid entry being denied.

However, you don’t have to stress, as our dedicated customs team is here to help you navigate these potentially tricky waters. Their knowledge and expertise in the finities of international shipping regulations can help you avoid unnecessary delays and ensure that your pallets are delivered safely and on time.
