A Record-Breaking 2019 for Waller Transport

As we wish our customers a merry Christmas and thank them for their service over the past 12 months, we’re left to reflect on yet another record-breaking year for Waller Transport.

With Brexit continuing to put pressure on UK logistics providers, we have bucked industry trends by growing our range of transport solutions, both for domestic and European loads. This has resulted in year-on-year turnover growth of 15% and the highest number of loads serviced in a single year.

Growing our European offering

Since launching our dedicated European logistics service from our Scotland office, we have managed thousands of loads to and from the continent, with jobs across Germany, France and even as far afield as Ukraine. This number has increased substantially in the past six months with the addition of key team members who, like the rest of the group, possess an unrivalled eye for detail and dedication to deliver every job that comes through the business.

Waller Transport are everywhere

Thanks to our growing haulier network and strong relationships with international freight carriers, we can manage the transport of any load to Europe, from steel coil and raw materials to break bulk and out-of-gauge cargo. We are also set up to move any containerised goods through all major UK ports, including Southampton, Harwich, Felixstowe and Immingham.

It’s not just our European team that continues to grow; we’ve made a number of other key hires throughout the year which has grown our team by a further 25% in 2019 alone. These appointments have been made at each of our UK depots, with the strength of our centralised back office team helping to underpin the success of the group as a whole.

First choice for time-critical retail logistics

We have seen a 25% increase in retail haulage jobs over the last year, facilitated by our ability to fulfil the time-critical needs of clients through our network and own dedicated fleet.

This service line continues to go from strength to strength, with our team offering 24/7 support for retailers such as Asda, Wilko and Morrisons.

These companies’ suppliers trust Waller Transport to source the right vehicle at short notice, ensuring their goods are delivered into stores or regional distribution centres (RDCs) at all hours. Our knowledge and experience of working with RDCs has made us the logistics partners of choice for numerous suppliers, likewise our flexibility to move part, full and return loads.

Our new website, logo and brand positioning are reflective of where we are now as a company, but it still offers a nod to our heritage and the family values and ethos that have stood us in good stead for over 50 years.

Plans for 2020 and beyond

Looking ahead to 2020, we are further strengthening our ability to deliver an end-to-end freight forwarding service for our customers, arranging deliveries to and from any destination worldwide. Our existing partnerships allow us to undertake everything on a client’s behalf, from shipping line liaison to customs clearance and devanning.
